Congressional analysts earlier this week released new figures on President Obama’s stimulus plan, including figures indicating that the measure has created or saved as many as 3.3 million jobs. The figures also indicate that the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act will cost approximately $814 billion over a 10-year-period, compared with the initial projected cost of $787 billion.
According to a report by the Associated Press, the analysis credits the stimulus measure with increasing the number of people employed by somewhere between 1.4 million and 3.3 million jobs between April and June. It also credits the measure with boosting the gross domestic product by as much as 4.5 percent.
